Law & International Relations
The Hague · Amsterdam · Brussels · Paris
Overview
The Hague, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris each hold a piece of how international law and human rights actually work.
We begin at The Hague, home to the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, where students see how nations settle disputes and individuals are held accountable for the gravest crimes.
In Amsterdam, students visit the Anne Frank House, where history feels immediate and personal, a reminder that law, rights and freedom are never abstract. At the Dutch Resistance Museum, students examine how ordinary citizens respond when justice is tested, and at the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, they see how Dutch art has long served as its own form of commentary.
In Brussels, students step into the European Parliament and European Commission, where policy shapes economies, borders and futures across 27 countries, connecting the diplomatic process to the legal frameworks studied elsewhere on the trip.
The trip closes in Paris, where students explore UNESCO and the historic courts of France, examining how global cooperation and national identity coexist, and how legal, philosophical and artistic ideas have shaped the world for centuries.
