Overview
The trip
The Renaissance changed how Europeans saw the world and how artists pictured it.
In Milan, students see Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper, a lesson in perspective. In Florence, they visit the Uffizi, Michelangelo's David at the Accademia and Brunelleschi's dome, and learn why Medici money made the city a workshop for genius. In Rome and Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel ceiling and Raphael's Rooms in the Vatican Museums, St Peter's Basilica and the Borghese Gallery show how popes and princes used art to project power and faith.
