Overview
The trip
Abu Dhabi has built one of the world's most concentrated cultural districts in under two decades.
On Saadiyat Island, students visit the Louvre Abu Dhabi, where Jean Nouvel's lattice dome filters light over galleries that place works from different civilisations side by side, and the Zayed National Museum. Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Frank Gehry's museum of modern and contemporary art, opens on 11 December 2026. teamLab Phenomena shows digital art, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque shows how calligraphy and ornament are used at monumental scale, and the Abrahamic Family House, with its mosque, church and synagogue, shows how architecture expresses shared values. Winter is the most comfortable season to visit.
