Overview

The trip

Spain and Portugal built their cuisines on the sea, the market and a shared history of exploration.

In Barcelona, students visit La Boqueria market and learn about Catalan cooking. In San Sebastián, they spend a day at the Basque Culinary Center, a university-level gastronomy school. In Lisbon, they visit the Mercado da Ribeira and learn how Portugal's explorers carried spices and techniques across the world.
